Need to know
Our 99% Bahian team received full training by the Villa Bahia.
During renovation, local Brasilian craftsmen were of big help : furniture and wooden objects come from a local restoration studio; vintage bathroom fittings, bathtubs and sinks were salvaged by a community of scrap metal merchants in Velhao.
Our staff uniforms were designed by students from the Salvador School of Design.
The food served in our restaurant - featuring mainly organic products - is purchased directly from local growers.
The Villa Bahia remains firmly committed to sustainability: water and electricity conservation, efficient irrigation and laundry systems, recycling in collaboration with a local co-operative, and the purchasing of environmentally friendly products - the Villa
Bahia was the original source of these practices within the historical centre.

Hotel website

In the heart of Salvador's historical centre, a step away from the Jorge Amado Museum, from the celebrated
Lacerda Elevator and the Praca da Se overlooking All Saints Bay. This hotel of charm has been renovated and offers 17 rooms, a restaurant and a pool.

A hotel like no other in Salvador da Bahia: two magnificent mansions with colonial charm, a journey through verdant courtyards, the pleasure of first-class gastronomy.

Nestled in the heart of Pelourinho, the historic quarter of the UNESCO World Heritage listed city; the Villa is comprised of two adjoining 17th and 18th century colonial homes, remnants of the Portuguese era.

Overlooking the colourful facades of the district, the 17 rooms have been carefully renovated to preserve their original spirit. The result is enticing: an authentic colonial atmosphere, enhanced by two garden courtyards, a refreshing plunge pool and a panoramic terrace.
Your host, Bruno Guinard, a Frenchman who has called Bahia home for 30 years, has proudly implemented genuine local participation and sustainable development practices within the Villa Bahia.

17 rooms (from 28m2 to 40m2) on 3 floors, overlook either the Baroque Church of Sao Francisco or the

Villa's leafy courtyards.
Each room, through its decoration, reflects a particular period in Bahia's history: Africa, Asia, Europe, the styles blending together to create a local soul. Luminous and serenely romantic: high ceilings, four-poster beds, wooden floorboards, and occasional tangy colour.
All the rooms on the top floor feature small private terraces.

The Villa Bahia is enticed with 2 peaceful patios: one with a botanical atmosphere and cooling fountain, the other with white walls, dripping vegetation and a small pool - a rare sight in the Pelourinho.

The deep sofas in the lounge prompt moments of conviviality...
The furniture and objects were all chosen for their authenticity, a move welcomed by Bahians when they visit the Villa Bahia!

A roof-top terrace allows you to overlook the historical center, with its many bells and colored facades.

Restaurant and bar
Adapting French techniques to local ingredients, our restaurant offers first-class contemporary cuisine with the richness of local flavours.

Breakfast is served in the restaurant or in the courtyard if you prefer to breathe the tropical morning air.

Brazil is 'home to the best' coffee and our bar is a good example of it!

Locally roasted, the delicious fresh aroma regularly drifts through the lounge...
